Balan Biomedical has retained patent attorney Anne M. Schneiderman of the Law Offices of Anne M. Schneiderman Ph.D. as external Intellectual Property and Corporate Counsel. “We are pleased to work with Anne as our IP attorney,” said Elisabeth Hager, MD, Chairman and CEO of Balan. “A biologist as well as a patent attorney, Dr. Schneiderman has the legal, scientific and industry expertise to successfully represent Balan, particularly in the areas of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices.” A graduate of Stanford University with degrees in biological sciences (B.S. with distinction) and law (J.D.), Dr. Schneiderman also holds a Ph.D. in neurobiology from Harvard University and has over twenty years of experience as a research scientist prior to practicing law. Her training in both science and law will allow her to work closely with Balan’s scientists, inventors, and management teams in developing ideas into patentable inventions. Prior to practicing law, Dr. Schneiderman was a developmental neurobiologist with academic appointments at Cornell University and Yale University.
